Another 3,000 people get a place in college

Just over 3,000 people have been offered a chance by the Central Applications Office (CAO) today to begin study on a third-level course.

The Round 2 offers arrive in the post this morning and were available to check online at 6am. They include the first offer this year for 1,206 of over 76,000 people who applied to the CAO.

More than 1,800 others are receiving an offer of a place higher on their list of preferences than a course already offered to them last week or in earlier rounds of the CAO process.
