€3.3m in EU funds for smart energy trials
ESB Networks, a division of the semi-State company, yesterday announced it had secured €3.3m in EU funds under the FINESCE smart energy project which aims to deliver major energy savings to consumers across the EU.
The research will be carried out in conjunction with a number of partners including Intune Networks and the TSSG centre at the Waterford Institute of Technology. A spokesperson for the ESB said the project would aim to harness how internet technologies can be applied to advance smart energy systems.
