Woman, 75, latest victim of burglars

Cash and a large amount of jewellery were taken from the home of a 75-year-old woman in Listowel, the latest in a series of burglaries in north Kerry.

The break-in at the woman’s house, in Clieveragh, a residential area of Listowel, is believed by local gardaí to have been committed between 2.20pm and 3.40pm, on Sunday afternoon.

The back door of the house and a window had been forced open and a safe, which had been in a press in the kitchen, was stolen.
