Dan Boyle returning to college to study
The Cork native has announced via social media that he will be attending UCC next semester to pursue a Masters in Government.
I've been offered and have accepted a place as a Masters student at UCC from September. Life will become more interesting.

Speaking this week Mr. Boyle outlined his reasons for returning to education.
“I think it's necessary to have a background in this area and to have it on my CV in terms of whatever employment opportunities are available to me in the future.”
Eager to share his own knowledge with both the UCC Department of Government and his classmates, Mr Boyle went pn: “Someone like me with my own life experience, my own political experience, can help inform how a programme like this is developed in a University.
"I might be able to confirm how the theories have been applied or show flaws in whether the theories in political science have a practical application.”
It seems that the former public representative may soon be putting his newly acquired knowledge to the test, with indications being that he will run for local government in 2014.
While not officially nominated as a party candidate at this point the long time Green party member said he would “like to put my experience to use in running for the Green Party in local elections and I'm asking other party members to think of me in that regard.”
As to whether or not the politics of the UCC Students’ Union will tempt him the former senator said he would be taking an active part in student life.
"I think it's a very important part of the student experience. I suppose the more important question is whether or not other students will be inclined to get involved with me.”
