€8m plan to relieve gridlock in city suburb

The Douglas Land Use and Transportation Study (DLUTS) was officially adopted by Cork County Council yesterday, after several years of research and consultation. The plan, being backed by the National Transport Authority (NTA), will be implemented over a number of years and includes a new bridge which will connect the old Carrigaline Road with Maryborough Hill, taking a considerable amount of traffic out of the village centre.
