The bodies of a mother and daughter found dead at their home in Killorglin, Co Kerry, almost three weeks ago are to be buried in Lithuania tomorrow.

The remains of Jolanta Lubiene, aged 27, originally from the country, and her daughter Enrika, aged 8, have been flown home, accompanied by family members. They were found at their rented home in Langford Downs, Killorglin, on Jun 16. An autopsy showed they died from stab wounds.

Ms Lubiene is from the village of Gedrimai, about 12km from Telsiai city, where the funeral will take place. She had lived and worked in Ireland for five years and had planned to go back to Lithuania at the end of June.

The late Ms Lubiene’s sister, Kristina, and her brother-in-law, Vaidas, live in Milltown, Co Kerry. Her husband, Marius Lubys, who had been working in Sweden for six months, returned to Kerry upon news of the tragic deaths.

The sisters’ parents, Rimantos and Ramote will receive the remains. Rimantos is seriously ill with cancer.

Aurimas Andruska, aged 26, of 7 Ardmoniel Heights, Killorglin, has been charged with the murders and is due in court in Tralee on Tuesday.
