The commemorative James Joyce coin issued by the Central Bank may have an embarrassing error — but that hasn’t stopped 7,000 of them from being bought yesterday.

One person is also already attempting to sell one at a profit on eBay.

The Central Bank said yesterday that it regretted the addition of the extra word “that” in a quotation from the James Joyce masterpiece Ulysses, and that it was “looking into” how the error occurred.
