Cream of the crop of St Patrick’s Day festivities

Enjoying afternoon tea served by a bona fide butler, followed by a tour of one of the country’s most renowned castle gardens, isn’t exactly a traditional St Patrick’s Day celebration but it is likely to be popular in Lismore, Co Waterford.

Cream of the crop of St Patrick’s Day festivities

Devonshire Day at Lismore Castle has become an annual tradition and sees guests served Devonshire Cream Tea — which is aiming to join the likes of the Waterford blaa by securing protected geographical status. Guests will be served by the duke’s butler in the Pugin Room and will get a preview of the castle’s spring gardens.

The event is a fundraiser organised by the Immrama Festival of Travel Writing committee, whose own event is now in its 11th year and will be held from Jun 13 to 16.
