Row over An Post contract

Concerns have been raised about how An Post advertises contracts to run post offices as a community vows to step up its campaign to save its branch.

TDs representing one of Cork’s last traditional “city villages”, which is poised to lose its post office to a nearby shopping centre, described the process as “less than open”.

“While the process probably complies with An Post guidelines, it is not as public as it could be,” said Fine Gael TD Dara Murphy.
