David Drumm’s marathon legal battle in the US just got longer as his bankruptcy trial will not now happen for more than six months.

The judge-only trial — stemming from objections to the discharge of his bankruptcy amid claims he misled the Massachusetts court — was originally pencilled in for January.

However, after months of back and forth, presiding Judge Frank Bailey has set aside four days in late June, close to three years after the former Anglo Irish Bank CEO filed for bankruptcy, listing debts of over €11m, the vast bulk to his former employers.
