Celtic Tiger developer found dead

Garda sources say Mr O’Regan, 49, may have suffered a heart attack. There was no car at the scene and it appeared he had been walking northbound on the side of the N11 motorway.

Mr O’Regan was discovered at an area known as Kilmullin, near Newtownmountkennedy, at about 6.30pm.

Mr O’Regan had been a prominent entrepreneur during the boom years. However, the implosion of the banking system and the collapse of the property market took a huge toll on his business empire.

In July of this year he was restricted from acting as a company director for five years following an action taken by the Office of the Director for Corporate Enforcement.

Mr O’Regan is survived by his wife and four sons.
