Autopsy due on two men found dead in house

An autopsy is due to take place today on the bodies of two friends found dead after a suspected drugs overdose.

Michael Coleman and Liam Coffey, both in their 20s and from Dungarvan and Cappoquin in Co Waterford, were found early yesterday in a downstairs room in a house in Kinsale, Co Cork.

Mr Coleman had just started work as a graduate chemical engineer in the nearby Eli Lilly factory. His friend had come to Kinsale to spend the weekend with him and his girlfriend in their new home.

A preliminary autopsy was carried out by deputy State pathologist Margot Bolster yesterday, as was a full Garda technical examination of the scene.

Shortly before 6am yesterday, Mr Coleman’s girlfriend found that neither man was breathing. Gardaí say there was no evidence of violence or drug paraphernalia at the house.
