Charity runs up €730k deficit

A Cork-based charity which provides a range of services to 2,000 clients with intellectual disabilities went almost €730,000 into the red last year.

Charity  runs up  €730k deficit

The Cope Foundation sustained the deficit after the HSE cut its grant from €45.9m to €44.8m last year. The loss of €729,086 compared to a surplus of €52,672 in 2010.

Cope, which operates out of 65 locations in Cork City and county, provides its services to clients for free.
