Corrs’ firm turns a profit despite lack of albums
The four-member band have sold 40m albums worldwide, but have not recorded a studio album since 2005 with individual members pursuing solo careers and other projects.
However, new accounts filed by Corrs’ firm Coppice Ltd with the Companies Office show that the firm reduced its accumulated losses by €50,468 from €199,455 to €148,972 in the 12 months to the end of Feb 28 last year.
Auditors for the firm, KPMG, confirm that the company made a profit last year and again in 2010 when it reduced its accumulated loss by €274,192.
The directors of the firm are Sharon, Andrea, Jim, and Caroline Corr along with John Hughes, who each have a 20% share.
The figures show that the directors received aggregate remuneration of €107,167 last year after not receiving any remuneration in 2010.
The directors received €229,503 in aggregate remuneration in 2009.
Today, Sharon — through her role as a judge on RTÉ’s The Voice — and Andrea — through solo work and acting — remain in the spotlight.
The Corrs won one Brit award and were also nominated for Grammys with the Coppice Ltd figures showing that the firm’s cash pile reduced last year from €124,781 to €112,353.
The firm had not filed accounts since Oct 2010 and the new accounts — which are abridged and do not provide a profit and loss account — are signed off by Sharon Corr and John Hughes.
The Corrs’ last studio album — their fifth — Home was released in 2005. The band’s second compilation album was Dreams: The Ultimate Corrs Collection released in 2006.
