Businesses get set to re-open after deluge

Efforts to return to normal home and business life continued across the weekend in parts of Cork hit by last week’s floods.

The long-term impact of the damage that followed torrential rain on Wednesday night is unclear for many residents and employers who are awaiting their insurers’ assessments.

However, they have ploughed on with the clean-up operation, with many businesses back trading already and others busy since Thursday morning trying to re-open as soon as possible.
