Son of murdered man issues appeal

The son of an electrician beaten and left to die in his burning home has told how his father was one of the gentlest people he has ever known.

James Cahillane, 58, suffered several head injuries in an assault at his rural house in Ardraw, Beaufort, Co Kerry, before his home was then set alight as he lay unconscious on Apr 19.

His son, Gary, who is in his 20s, is set to plead for information on the killing of the father of two on RTÉ’s Crimecall tonight.
