A Limerick rugby fan who died in Stade de France shortly before Saturday night’s abandoned match between Ireland and France had taken his wife to Paris for an early St Valentine’s Day celebration.

John Flanagan, 60, from Norwood Park, was in the stadium with his wife Irene when he collapsed.

Mr Flanagan, who worked with Limerick City Council, had recently been ill and had just returned to work.
