Equality issue

The Government should extend the protections of the equality legislation to transgender people, Wicklow TD Anne Ferris said yesterday.

“I think it is important that diversity be celebrated, and I hope much greater equality for the community can be achieved in the lifetime of this Government,” she said.

She wished the LGBT community well for the Dublin Pride parade, which takes place at 2pm today.
