Charges linked to terrorism

A 28-YEAR-OLD man was charged last night with offences related to dissident republican terrorist activity.

The accused was arrested in north Belfast on Thursday night.

Authorities subsequently recovered four timer power units, of a similar type to those used in past explosive attacks.

The man will appear in court in Belfast today.

He has been charged with possession of articles likely to be of use to terrorists and preparing for an act of terrorism.

The Antrim Road was sealed off as the timer devices were examined.
