‘Clean-technology’ firm wins top enterprise award
The award went to Metron Nanotech, who won the competition run by Clonmel Chamber.
Chamber members came together last November and put together a suite of services and products worth over €45,000 to be used by a start-up in Clonmel over a period of 12 months.
It’s hoped the idea will spread nationwide as a way for existing firms to help new initiatives and ideas.
“We are delighted to have won such an innovative competition,” managing director Mike Keating said yesterday. “For a start up such as ourselves, the ability to access these supports will make a significant difference in the development of our company.”
Metron Nanotech specialise in providing a “clean room” — free of airborne contamination and pollution — to industries.
Chamber director Don Davern said Mike and his team were worthy winners. “They have a definite plan to create jobs and to make a positive contribution to the life sciences and technology sector in Clonmel,” he said.
The 11 contributing organisations were Europlan, Lynch & Partners, O’Gorman Brannigan Purtill, Unitec, Ulster Bank, HR Direct, Solar Broadband, Bord Gáis Energy, Drury PR, Lion Print and Clonmel Chamber.
