‘Peter Pan’ fined for drunken incidents

Peter Pan was the name given by Kiall Duggan, aged 22, of 18 Pines Valley, Ballyvolane, Cork, when he was approached by gardaí who found him behaving in a drunken and threatening manner.

“He refused to give his name and said his name was Peter Pan. He said ‘(another person) will bury you, you pricks looking after druggies inside in Cork’.”

Details were also given of Duggan’s involvement in a similar incident on July 5 where he smashed a glass panel in the front door of his mother’s house. He was very drunk and abusive at the time.

In a third incident he was found shouting obscenities at a female taxi driver on Leitrim Street, Cork, in the early hours of the morning. He was shouting: “Take me home, bitch,” Inspector Mary King said. Duggan was also shouting abuse at passers-by.

Judge Con O’Leary put Duggan on a probation bond for two years on the threatening charges and fined him €100 on each of three counts of being drunk and a danger and on the charge of giving a false name. The judge said he would jail Duggan for that if there were any problems with the probation service.
