Roche: FF will exploit opposition differences

FIANNA FÁil will focus on the “diametrically opposed” policies of the alternative Government parties, Fine Gael and Labour, in an effort to win back its dwindling support ahead of the next general election.

Yesterday’s opinion poll, showing just 19% satisfaction for the Government and 22% for Fianna Fáil “could have been a whole lot worse” given the harsh budget cuts imposed last month, according to Minister for European Affairs Dick Roche.

He expects “the dynamic of politics will change considerably” ahead of the next general election, which is due in 2012.
