Pay freezes

FOUR out of five workers will not be paid for taking days off because of the recent snow.

This is according to a survey by IrishJobs.ie which also said that a third of respondents said they were snowed in and didn’t attempt to travel to work. It said 7% of workers used the weather as an excuse to stay home.

The journey to work was lengthened for 85% of workers due to the bad weather. A third of people took between one and two hours to get to work, while a quarter took between two and four hours.
