File almost ready for DPP

GARDAÍ say that a file is almost complete and will be shortly sent to the DPP in the case of a 22-year-old Co Galway man charged with the murder of his grandfather.

Gearoid Fahy of Carrownamona, Ardrahan, Co Galway is charged with the murder of Finbar Fahy (78) at Ballinduff, Ardrahan on Tuesday, October 10.

Fahy was remanded in custody to Castlerea Prison to appear again before Harristown District Court on February 5.

Gardaí are waiting for the postmortem report and toxicology report to for the file to be sent to the DPP.
