Drumm to give bonus to charity

THE decision by HSE chief executive Brendan Drumm to give his €70,000 performance bonus to charity is the next best option to it not being paid at all, Labour’s Jan O’Sullivan said yesterday.

Drumm to give bonus to charity

Professor Drumm revealed at the weekend that he gave his controversial 2006 bonus of €80,000 to charity and would also donate his 2007 bonus of €70,000, if it was drawn down.

The party’s spokeswoman on health said she still believed Health Minister Mary Harney should have declared that the bonus was not being paid. “I think the fact that Prof Drumm plans to give it to charity is probably the next best option to it not being paid at all.”
