Increase taxes even if it hurts economy, say TDs

NINE out of 10 TDs and senators believe people should be hit with more taxes even if it hinders economic growth.

And one in 10 members of the Oireachtas believe corporation taxes should be hiked, even if it hurts the economy.

This is according to an international survey of parliaments, which questioned Dáil and Seanad members on their attitudes to politics and the economic downturn.
