Teddy bears outside the Dáil speak volumes at silent protest over cuts

THE protesters were silent, but the scores of teddy bears left outside the Dáil spoke volumes.

The two-day silent demonstration over the withdrawal of services at Our Lady’s Crumlin began on Saturday and was planned to coincide with the Oireachtas Family weekend.

Hundreds of parents also protested outside the Dublin hospital demanding health chiefs consider the effects of the cutbacks and bed closures on patients.
