Four people jump from building to escape blaze

A 35-YEAR-OLD man is in a critical condition in hospital after he and three others jumped from different floors of an apartment block to escape a blaze.

The alarm was raised at 12.30am yesterday when a woman jumped from the first floor of the apartment block at No 13 North Mall in Cork city. Seconds later two men and another woman also jumped, this time from the top apartments which were some 50ft from the ground.

Gardaí have appealed for help in tracing the relatives of the critically injured man.
