HUNDREDS of people from all walks of life turned up to pay their last respects yesterday to a man who was the longest serving newspaper editor in the country.

For 50 years, Liam O’Regan served as editor of the Southern Star, which is County Cork’s biggest selling weekly broadsheet.

He died at his home at Abbeystrewery, near Skibbereen, last Friday.
