Gardaí await postmortem report into suspicious death of man

GARDAÍ investigating a suspicious death in west Cork are awaiting the results of a postmortem before deciding their next course of action.

And, in a separate incident, a man’s body was recovered from the sea by the crew of a trawler about 4km off Ballycotton yesterday afternoon.

The exact circumstances surrounding the discovery were unclear last night. However, it is understood the man in his 50s was a council worker who got in to difficulties after going for a swim.
