They will be among the hundreds of Munster rugby exhibits which will be permanently on display in the rugby museum being built at the €40 million Thomond Park.

Hundreds of memorabilia pieces belonging to Munster players — present and past — have been collected. The museum will give visitors a unique Munster rugby experience through audio video presentations, a film of Munster rugby and simulated dressing room and training areas.

The museum will be divided into four sections. The first section will feature a locker room kitted out with the gear of greats such as Paul O’Connell, Donncha O’Callaghan, Ronan O’Gara, Keith Wood and Peter Clohessy.

Donncha’s locker will have those famous red jocks.

The room will also feature an audio visual presentation.

The second section will feature a history of Munster rugby on film and print; the third section will be called the Training Room, with advice on fitness, ball-kicking and scrum machines; and the fourth section will feature a film on Munster rugby in an auditorium.

Sean Reynolds of Miguel Foto — who is fitting out the museum with film and photo material — said: “It will be a fantastic attraction for school tours and all rugby fans.”

Visitors will also be able to call into a Munster rugby shop.

The museums will open on October 26.

Young Munster stalwart, Johnny Brennan has built up his own private rugby museum at his home in Hyde Road,
