Irish breakfast at Tiffany’s: Jeweller set to open store

The move could be seen as a glittering vote of confidence in Ireland’s economic future.

Yesterday, the internationally renowned jeweller, announced its plan to open a boutique in Dublin next autumn.

The 120sq m boutique will be situated on the newly refurbished ground floor of Brown Thomas on Grafton Street.

The boutique design will feature signature details of the jeweller’s famous New York flagship store such as brushed stainless steel showcases and custom furnishings.

The outlet will be selling what the company termed “exquisite diamonds in engagement rings and jewels of ultimate glamour; fine and sterling silver jewellery; the celebrated designs of Elsa Peretti, Paloma Picasso, Jean Schlumberger and Frank Gehry; watches; accessories and gifts”.

“Grafton Street has long been Dublin’s major shopping destination and Brown Thomas its premier luxury department store,” said Melvyn Kirtley, a spokesperson for Tiffany & Co.

“Our prominent location on the store’s elegantly redesigned ground floor provides us with a gracious and welcoming environment for introducing customers to our heritage of product design and outstanding service for which Tiffany is known worldwide,” he said.

The company operates shops and boutiques in the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe and engages in direct selling through Internet, catalogue and business gift operations.

The New York flagship store was featured in the Audrey Hepburn film Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
