THE owner of South’s bar in Limerick last night offered to act as peace broker between Defence Minister Willie O’Dea and Shannon lobbyists John Fahey and Geraldine Morrissey following a verbal clash last Saturday over the minister’s absence from the recent Dáil debate on Shannon.

A former national president of the Vintners Federation of Ireland (VFI) David Hickey said he was not in the bar when Mr O’Dea called on Saturday night with the Tánaiste Brian Cowen.

Mr O’Dea has been accused of verbally abusing Mr Fahey and Ms Morrissey when they challenged him on his absence from the Dáil vote on Shannon.
