Mixed changes in Junior Cert results
There were 57,395 candidates for this year’s exam. This is almost 400 fewer than last year, but more than the previous two years. The total includes 1,356 people who returned to education through state-funded schemes and more than 100 who studied at least one subject independently.
More than 15,500 people will find out today they got at least one A in a higher level exam, slightly fewer than the 16,271 who achieved this in 2006. They include 96 people with 10 As, eight students with 11 As and one candidate who received the top grade in 12 subjects.
