Labour to seek higher levels of broadband use

MAJOR obstacles have still not been overcome with regard to broadband access for Irish households, the Labour Party has reiterated.

Labour to seek higher levels of broadband use

Quoting from a new survey on internet and broadband, Labour’s communications spokesperson Tommy Broughan TD said ComReg must be commended for undertaking research “that indicates very interesting trends in Irish internet usage and compares the Irish experience of internet and broadband with other EU member states”.

“The survey indicates the growing level of Irish internet usage. 32% of individuals surveyed said they used the internet every day and a further 42% said they used it at least a couple of times a week. Six out of ten individuals also stated that their online activity increased once they had access to high speed broadband services,” he said.
