Gardaí close in on car scam businessman

A MAJOR garda investigation has been set up into a multi-million euro car scam used to launder money for top criminals.

A car dealer at the centre of the investigation is believed to have extensive connections with a number of top criminals and paramilitaries. The businessman, who lives in a luxurious house in South Dublin, is suspected of laundering massive amounts of illicit cash for these criminals.

The dealer is being investigated for a number of suspected criminal offences, including deception, making threats to customers and orchestrating arson attacks on other car dealerships.
