Unemployment rates rising in many parts of Munster

UNEMPLOYMENT was up in Kerry, Limerick and Clare last month compared to the same period in 2005, but was marginally down in Cork, according to figures released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO).

The total number of people on the live register in Co Kerry last month was 6,793, which is up from 6,650 for the comparable month in 2005.

While unemployment was slightly down in Cahirciveen, Dingle, Killarney and Killorglin, it was up in the other major towns.
