RTÉ told to halt holiday-home TV licence fees

AN Oireachtas committee has told RTÉ it should stop imposing double licence fees on people who own holiday homes.

In 2005, inspectors began targeting popular resorts to make sure people who used televisions in their holiday homes had a TV licence.

This meant anybody with televisions in both their house and holiday home had to fork out for two licences.
