SINN Féin has proposed increasing the minimum wage, reversing recent ESB hikes and abolishing private pension tax incentives in its pre-budget submission announced yesterday.

In its raft of proposals aimed at low income families, the party suggested the introduction of a 50% tax rate on those earning over €100,000 and a 5% increase in corporation tax in order to boost revenue.

In addition, the party proposed ending the ability of high income individuals to declare themselves “non resident for tax purposes”.
