BANK OF IRELAND yesterday warned its online customers to be wary of bogus emails attempting to hack into their personal accounts.

The financial giant said it received reports of emails directing recipients to a website where they are asked to input secure banking information such as user IDs, PINs and passwords.

The bank urged customers to be wary of all such bogus correspondence, known as phishing, and to report it immediately.
