A MAN who is fighting for his life in hospital may have been attacked and thrown into a river after a drinking session, gardaí have said.

A senior spokesman said yesterday they are treating the incident as “suspicious” and are appealing for witnesses.

The man, who is in his early 40s, was pulled out of the River Lee, near University College Cork, at around 6.30pm on Sunday.
