€36m for social and educational disadvantage

FACILITIES to improve school participation in poorer areas and transport or other services for people with disabilities are to be boosted by €36m from unused bank accounts.

The Government is allocating half the funding towards educational disadvantage programmes and the other half to help those with a disability.

The money comes from the €60m being set aside this year from the Dormant Accounts Fund, leaving around €160m yet to be allocated.
