Pushy group to stay in bed for cancer charity

AN ACTIVE retirement group is today testing the mettle of its most ambitious members with a bed push which will help raise money for cancer sufferers in Waterford.

The Sacred Heart Active Retirement Association is today hosting a two-day bed push with funds going to the South-East Cancer Foundation. The push takes place this evening and tomorrow evening, going through each estate in the closely-knit parish.

Organiser Peg Tebay said it’s a very worthy appeal and interest in and support for the event has been phenomenal. They are glad that temperatures are down from 30 degrees on Tuesday for the event, she said.
