Pushy group to stay in bed for cancer charity
The Sacred Heart Active Retirement Association is today hosting a two-day bed push with funds going to the South-East Cancer Foundation. The push takes place this evening and tomorrow evening, going through each estate in the closely-knit parish.
Organiser Peg Tebay said it’s a very worthy appeal and interest in and support for the event has been phenomenal. They are glad that temperatures are down from 30 degrees on Tuesday for the event, she said.
“We wish to thank the new mayor, Cllr Cha O’Neill for his support and we are asking everyone to be as generous as possible for this worthy cause,” she said.
The bed push will be started by the mayor at 4pm today at Bracken Grove and will visit St Herblain, Avondale, Cherrymount, Kilcohan, Ursuline Court, Pierce Park, Ballytruckle, Ferndale, The Folly, Crystal Court and St John’s Park.
