Tax cuts mean cheaper electrical goods

HOUSEHOLDERS face paying less for their televisions, washing machines and fridges from next month after cuts were announced in the recycling tax.

Tax cuts mean cheaper electrical goods

The levy on big televisions will fall by 25% to €15, while the tax on washing machines will tumble to €10, with small goods down to as little as 50c.

Every time householders buy an electrical appliance they pay the surcharge, known as the Environmental Management Costs levy.
