Jellyfish provide sting in the tail as bathers cool off by seaside

AS temperatures continue to soar, thousands of bathers and sun worshippers crowding onto the beaches of the south west are being greeted by huge numbers of jellyfish.

The larger than usual amount of jellyfish can be seen both in the water and stranded on beaches after the tide goes out.

Swimmers often first become aware of their presence when they get a mild sting.
