City park revamp set to delight skateboarders

ONE of Waterford city’s finest open spaces is about to get another major facelift, with sections being adapted for use by skateboarders, basketball enthusiasts and for other youth facilities.

Work is beginning on the final phase of a redevelopment by Waterford City Council of the People’s Park in Waterford city centre.

More than e1 million has been spent on improving the public space in recent years. The latest refurbishment work will concentrate on the area south and west of the traditional bandstand and see e1m spent on it.
