Opposition criticises road safety record
Party spokesman Shane McEntee said the departments of Transport, Justice, Health, Education and Environment should come together to address outstanding issues, such as the need for driving laws to be more rigorously enforced.
The party also reiterated its call for the Taoiseach to take personal responsibility for tackling the number of deaths on the roads, in the same way that president Jacques Chirac did with some success in France.
