A FURTHER crackdown on sexual harassment in the Defence Forces was promised last night, as the Government committed to developing a gender-equal system.

O’Dea commits to equality in the Defence Forces

Defence Minister Willie O’Dea pledged to create a female-friendly culture in the army, navy and air corps, as he lowered height requirements to encourage more recruits.

Height requirements for male and female requirements will be lowered from 5ft 4 inches at present, to 5ft 2 inches in September.
