Western schools take the honours to reach last four

SCHOOLS from Galway and Roscommon have reached the last four of the Thomas Crosbie Holdings’ schools quiz 2004.

In two very competitive quarter-final ties, the teams from the West had impressive wins over Cavan and Dublin schools.

The last two semi-final places will be determined this evening.

St Joseph's College Galway reached the penultimate round after a strong win over St Patrick's College, Cullies, Co Cavan, while, in the second session, CBS Roscommon had a convincing victory over Clonkeen College, Dublin.

Results (Quiz No 159): St Joseph's College, Galway, 104 St Patrick's College, Cavan, 80.

(Quiz No 160): CBS, Roscommon, 108 Clonkeen College, Dublin, 88.

The second pair of quarter-final ties will be held this evening at Room G19, science block, University College Cork. The teams are Intermediate School from Killorglin, Co Kerry and CBS Kilkenny City along with Ard Scoil Phobal from Bantry and Coachford College, both Co Cork.
