Most people deny risks of Irish sun

THREE out of four Irish people are unaware that catching some rays on those rare sunny days at home exposes them to a serious cancer risk.

While 73% of people know the sun is the main cause of skin cancer, only 26% believe that a typical sunny day in Ireland poses a strong risk.

And almost a third believe a cloudy summer’s day in Ireland presents no risk at all.
